Queensland State Budget 2023-24

Happy State Budget Week!

This is the ninth State Labor Budget that I've had the privilege of supporting and I'm excited to let you know what's in it 🥁🥁

Here are some State highlights:
📣 Free kindy for all Queensland families
📣 $550 Cost of Living Rebate to every Queensland Household - up to $1072 for eligible vulnerable households
📣 $89 billion 4-year Big Build capital infrastructure program
📣 $650 rebates for eligible small businesses
📣 $322 million to build more social housing
📣 $150 SwimStart vouchers for families with children aged 0 - 4

Locally, in and around the Kurwongbah electorate, we're getting:
✅$15 million to upgrade the Dayboro-Youngs Crossing Rd intersection
✅ Almost $15 million to support the start of our Burpengary Train Station upgrade (more $$ coming next year)
✅ $12 million over two years to upgrade North Pine Dam
✅ $9.7 million for Skilling Queenslanders for Work programs
✅ Youth Co-Responder Teams for Moreton Bay
✅ $$ to open our Satellite Hospitals at Caboolture and Kallangur

And, we're delivering all of this while bringing the budget into surplus!  I'm proud to be part of a government delivering on cost of living relief, good jobs, better services, and continuing to invest in our great lifestyle here in Queensland.

I welcome your feedback on the 2023-24 Queensland State Budget.

Queensland’s Big Build

Our 2023-24 State Budget includes the biggest investment in infrastructure delivery in our history – Queensland’s Big Build.

Over $20 billion in capital program works is being funded in the 2023-24 State Budget as part of an $89 billion investment package over four years.

Queensland’s biggest decade of infrastructure investment is set to transform the state creating more jobs, new industries, better communities and stronger regions.

Major programs being supported include the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan and the delivery of more housing, major water infrastructure, and better health and transport services.
