We’re looking for awesome local volunteers who help make our community such a great place to live.
Whether they’re helping at a local sports club, P&C, SES, community group, parkrun, environmental organisation, or just quietly lending a hand behind the scenes - we want to hear about them!

Each week, we’ll be giving one amazing volunteer a little recognition and sharing their story with the community.
Terms & Conditions
1. Nominees must live, volunteer, or contribute within the Kurwongbah electorate.
2. Nominations must include:

The nominee’s name
-
The organisation, club, or group they volunteer with (if applicable)

A short description outlining why they deserve recognition
-
A photo suitable for promotional use
3. By submitting a nomination, the person submitting confirms they have permission to share the nominee’s photo and details.
4. Selected nominees may be featured on social media, websites, newsletters, printed materials, and other promotional content associated with the Initiative.
5. Nominees must consent to the use of their first name, photo, and nomination story before any public promotion takes place.
6. One volunteer will generally be recognised each week, however selection timing and frequency may vary.
7. Submission of a nomination does not guarantee selection or publication.
8. The Initiative aims to recognise a broad and diverse range of volunteers across the community.
9. Nominations may remain on file for future consideration throughout the campaign period.
10. The Office of Shane King MP reserves the right to edit submitted wording for clarity, length, grammar, or suitability for publication.
11. Nominations containing offensive, defamatory, misleading, political, or inappropriate content will not be considered.
12. The Office of Shane King MP reserves the right to decline or remove nominations at its discretion.
13. Personal contact information will not be publicly shared.
14. Participants may withdraw consent at any time by contacting:
