2026-27 STATE BUDGET HIGHLIGHTS

I am honoured to represent residents across the Kurwongbah State Electorate, and proud of what we've achieved together since I was elected as your State MP:

  • Local road and highway interchange upgrades – with the next Bruce Highway improvement stages on the way

  • New Ambulance Stations at Lawnton and Morayfield

  • Caboolture Hospital expansion completed

  • Satellite Hospitals in Kallangur and Caboolture

  • 50c fares & major train station upgrades

  • More parking for Lawnton Station

  • A new Narangba Station carpark on the way

  • Resurfacing along Dayboro Road

  • North Pine Dam Upgrade

  • Air-conditioning, solar & better NBN in State Schools

  • Accessibility, playground, building & tuckshop upgrades for local schools

  • Petrie Fire Station

  • Petrie Substation

  • A State land swap to build Sunshine Coast University's Petrie Campus

  • Kallangur Neighbourhood Centre (with outreach services north to Narangba)

  • Almost half a million in funding to Council for extra CCTV & license plate recognition cameras

  • Millions in grants & improvements for local sporting and community groups

And the 2026-27 Budget locks in strong Labor legacies like $200 kids sports vouchers and 50c Fares!

In the Petrie Mill precinct, thanks to joint Federal Government funding, we're getting a new TAFE of Excellence and an Olympic grade indoor sports centre.  Federal Labor are also funding the majority of the Bruce Highway upgrade projects happening now and coming soon between the Pine River and Caboolture.

With your help, I hope to achieve even more – visit shaneking.net.au to add your voice to my ongoing community campaigns.  Or, if you have an idea that can benefit our community, please call the office on 3448 9100 or send me an email at kurwongbah@parliament.qld.gov.au to let me know what it is.
